Amarin Thai offers the following products and/or services: » Thai (4) Plain and earnest, Amarin consistently produces some of the tastiest Thai food in downtown Sacramento. Located on a busy intersection, the restaurant offers few parking options, so plan to leave your car several blocks away or take public transportation to visit this very welcoming family-owned establishment. The interior is spare and clean, with tiny wooden tables, lazy fans whirring on the ceiling and a lovely Thai embroidered cloth and ornate mirror the only wall decorations. Amarin has a great selection of vegetarian dishes—one of the most comprehensive we’ve seen in the region – which includes vegetarian appetizers (try the “larb tofu,” chunks of tofu tossed with lime juice, onions, chili, and mint leaves), salads, soups and entrées. Meat eaters will relish the kitchen’s moist Thai barbecued chicken and the complex, fragrant Amarin shrimp curry, swathed in a red curry sauce with Kaffir lime leaves. Also recommended is the excellent, feisty fresh ginger sauté (with your choice of pork, beef, chicken or shrimp), shellacked with a thick, lip-smacking black bean sauce; and the hearty “drunken” noodles, spicy noodles stir-fried with basil leaves and chili sauce.
